About The
School Unity Project

Fostering Unity and Respect

The School Unity Project is dedicated to fostering unity and

respect among high school students. Our program is designed

to create a supportive and inclusive environment, enhancing

the overall well-being and academic experience of students.

Our 2.5-hour assembly imparts essential knowledge to high schoolers. We emphasize the significance of meaningful communication, highlighting its role in building relationships. Exploring the concept that 'Your Energy is Your Currency' and how past relationships affect future connections, we instill values of empathy and understanding. By embracing differences and sharing stories, we create a culture of acceptance and unity among students.

Key Teachings

Why Choose School Unity Project

The School Unity Project is a collection of interactive experiences that build on each other throughout the day. The end result is ownership. When students realize that their attitudes and behaviors have an impact on school culture they are more likely to engage in positive engagement and treat each other with respect. Giving students ownership is the first step in building positive school culture.

Meaningful Relationships Begin with Awkward Conversations:

Talking to people who are outside your group is never easy, but it is one of the most important skills a young person can master. Students who learn to build community in high school are much more willing to create meaningful relationships after high school.

Energy is your Currency:

People are drawn to each other because they see a reason to engage. When students learn to make small adjustments in their physiology, facial expressions, and verbal cues others are more eager to invest time into a relationship with them.

Learning from Past Relationships:

Past relationships don't determine future relationships, but they do affect who we become. Students gain tools to understand their past, but more importantly they gain strategies for making current and future relationships be the best they can be.

Unity through Differences and Similarities:

Understanding that we are all going through something at any point in time, creates a shared experience and an extra incentive to drop the judgment and be a little more accepting of other students' journeys.

Empathy through Understanding:

The School Unity Project is a day of education about being human. We learn so much in school, but we seldom take the time to look at the one thing that has the greatest impact on our lives - relationships. The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives. When we seek to understand others our relationships with others will improve.

Real Impact, Real Testimonials

Every year we always get great stories from students about how the School Unity Project has impacted our students. This past year a student said he had been harrassed by a fellow students since middle school. Upon completion of the day the student who had been disrespected was apologized to, and was told it will never happen again. On a similar note my own son said it was one of the best things he had been involved with during his high school experience.

The School Unity Project day was my single best day as an educator. I was able to get to know and understand my students. The experience brought the staff and students together as a unit working toward having a meaningful year!
